Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Dentistry 7th Floor Laboratory Renovation project shall renovate approximately 2,400 assignable square feet (ASF) of existing outdated laboratory space, and an additional 400 ASF consisting of (3) Principal Investigator offices within the School of Dentistry tower. The work includes: demolition of the existing lab space and offices; installation of a modern wet laboratory; mechanical, electrical and plumbing improvements to support the program; upgrade of fire/life safety and signage as required by code; provision of fixed and movable equipment, including casework, sinks, fume hoods, bio-safety cabinets, and safety shower to support the laboratory; repair of ceilings and walls in the corridor as needed after the provision of mechanical, plumbing, electrical items, and fire sprinklers; provision of a sprinkler system on the seventh floor only. Wet standpipes are located in the stairways adjacent to the area of work. Also included is the provision of fire/life/safety devices in the building for the Project area, which will tie into the existing Fire Alarm System.
