Specifications include, but are not limited to: Vista Unified School District’s Child Nutrition Services (CNS) is looking for a custom food serving truck. VUSD has 25 school locations and a Central Kitchen location which prepares and delivers food to all of the District school sites. In addition, CNS also participates in the District’s Summer Food Service Program. One of the primary goals for this custom food serving truck will be to transport fully prepared meals (both hot and cold) to specific sites and serve students at those sites. Staff will load holding carts, load them into the truck using lift-gate and safely secure them in place inside the truck. The locking mechanisms to secure the rolling holding carts (hot and cold) must be designed, installed and tested to meet the equipment specifications and state inspections requirements. Truck must have either one or two concession (whichever works best for equipment and size of truck requested) windows to facilitate serving K-12 students their meals in a safe and ergonomically manner. A condiment dispensing station (for ketchup, mustard, salad dressing etc…) with easy access for self-serve and replenishment must be incorporated into truck. Partition separating cab (driver and passenger) must be added to this truck. As this is a custom truck, the District is requesting a preliminary drawing or sketch to be submitted with Bid showing outside layout of truck (concession windows), inside layout/placement of equipment (refrigerator, sinks, shelves etc..) and suggested custom locking mechanisms for the rolling carts. Suggested truck schematic for rolling holding carts. Open to other suggestions and layouts, just wanting to keep them as close to rear as possible. Truck must meet state, county and local requirements for this type of food service truck as well as all San Diego county health department requirements.
