Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. To provide a comprehensive and cost-effective solution, the County is seeking qualified vendors to provide Body Transport Services to the County’s Coroner Division. It is anticipated that the County will require approximately 1,950 Body Transport Services annually. The number of estimated annual cases noted is only an estimate, and is not a guarantee, of the total number of Body Transport cases awarded. 2. Transport Requirements: a. Proposer shall be required to respond to requested death scenes anywhere within the geographical boundaries (or chosen zone) of the County of San Bernardino, and to death scenes under the County’s jurisdiction located outside County lines. b. Proposer shall transport bodies primarily to the County Morgue, located at 175 South Lena Road, San Bernardino, or a Proposer’s facility (if applicable), as mutually agreed upon by Proposer and County. 3. Holiday/Weekend/After-Hours Availability: a. Proposer shall provide Body Transport Services on an on-call basis, 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365 days per year (366 days during a leap-year). b. Body Transport Services shall be available on all holidays, weekends, and after hours; there shall be no variation in service availability. 4. Attendant Requirements: a. Two (2) attendants shall be used on all calls except when otherwise directed by the County. b. One (1) attendant may be used on all institutional calls, including but not limited to, hospitals, convalescent hospitals, and board and care facilities. It is estimated that approximately 50 percent (50%) of Body Transport cases will require two (2) attendants; approximately five percent (5%) of Body Transport cases may require special handling, which may include decomposition, parasite infestation, severe trauma, and large bodies in excess of 250 pounds. c. Attendants shall wear approved masks and are responsible for the loading and unloading of Proposer’s vehicles, placing bodies on the portable tables within the cold storage area of the morgue, and completing the transportation log located in the receiving area of the County’s facility
