Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County of Santa Clara’s Social Services Agency’s (SSA) Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) is soliciting proposals from qualified community-based organizations with non-profit, tax-exempt status pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, to provide the following: 1.24-Hour Adult Protective Services Hotline Adult Protective Services (APS) is a mandated program by the State of California and is required to receive and investigate reported allegations of elder (anyone age 65 or older) or dependent adult (ages 18 to 64 who because of mental or physical disability are unable to protect themselves and advocate on their own behalf) abuse. The goals of APS are to protect, prevent and remedy abuse of elders and dependent adults through assessment, investigation and planning of services to maintain and enhance quality of life. APS is also mandated to operate a 24/7 Hotline/Call Center to receive and respond to reports of abuse and neglect. APS is required to report monthly statistics which include the number of abuse reports received, number of cases investigated, types of abuse investigated and findings, as well as other measures.
