Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Surface Preparation: 1. Surface Conditions: Pressure wash all the exterior of the building including facia with 2,500 to 3,000 PSI or equal before application of paint. Examine surfaces to determine that the work is in satisfactory condition to receive specified coating or finish. Apply paints and finishes only when surfaces are dry and properly prepared, and surrounding conditions are satisfactory for painting. 2. Cleaning and Treatment: Metal: Remove rust, loose mill scale, grease, dirt, oil preservative coatings and any other deleterious matter. B. Do Not Paint: Concrete surfaces such as unpainted concrete foundations. Architectural hardware (except prime coated or already painted) Chromium, Nickel, Brass, Bronze or Stainless Steel. Concrete surfaces as follows: All unpainted concrete foundations or floors. Normally non-painted items as follows: Glass and lexan windows, door guards, wainscoting, etc. Piping or conduit including brackets, etc. running on or across unpainted or otherwise unfinished walls or ceilings, unless already painted, then it shall be primed & painted. III. INSTALLATION A. General: Where specifications describe portions of the work in general terms, but not in complete detail, it is understood that only the best general practice is to prevail and that only material and workmanship of the best quality are to be used. All dirt to be dug out six (6) inches from building foundation prior to priming and replaced after paint is dried.
