Specifications include, but are not limited to: full service removal and disposal of all liquids and solids from Treatment Pond 2 and sludge drying beds. Contractor shall remove all fluid contents and solids including sludge, scum, grit, sand, and other foreign materials deposited in the treatment pond 2 and sludge drying beds. Such removed material shall be disposed of off-site by Contractor at Contractor’s expense in accordance with Attachment “A” The Neal Road Recycling and Waste Facility Generators Waste Profile Instructions. If Contractor chooses to dewater the fluid and solid contents on site, the equipment used for such dewatering shall consistently achieve a solids capture rate of 95 percent, minimum. The District assumes the bottom of the pond is dirt, with no liner or cobble beyond the cobble covered outlet pipe. The District assumes sludge drying bed bottom consists of layers of sand, gravel and cobble. The sludge drying bed proposal will be submitted with the understanding that the bottom is a layer of sand, gravel and cobble.
