Under the general direction of the District, the Contractor shall be responsible for assisting the injured individuals in navigating the health care process. The Contractor shall work on behalf of the individuals to schedule appointments with doctors, diagnostic testing services, physical therapy, and all related medical needs. The Contractor shall usher the individuals through the process with the goal of eliminating unnecessary appointments; reducing the time to definitive care; and reducing the time between appointments. The Contractor shall keep specified parties informed of all steps in the process and serve as the single point of contact regarding the contracted Services for the injured individuals. The Contractor shall work directly and collaboratively with the District’s workers’ compensation process, as well as the injured individual’s insurance providers. Designated District staff and Covered Members shall have access to services year-round.
