Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Pasadena Police Department is in the process of taking bids for the training of five of our police pilots in helicopter emergency procedures. The Air Unit is looking specifically for a licensed Federal Aviation Administration Certified Flight instructor(s) with experience in the Bell 206 or Bell OH58 helicopters. The Certified Flight instructor(s) should be proficient in training and performing emergency procedures. The training tasks will include, but are not limited to: vortex ring state, loss of tail rotor peddle, hydraulic failure, run-on landings, power recovery autos, straight-in and 180 full down autorotations. The pilots will train in a Bell 206 or Bell 58 helicopter. The Certified Flight instructor will provide the helicopter, which will be flown to the Pasadena Heliport on the day(s) of training. Once the aircraft is at the Pasadena Heliport for training, the Jet fuel will be provided by the Police Department for the remainder of the training period.
