Specifications include, but are not limited to: General Responsibilities (1). It is the Contractor's responsibility to maintain the overall grounds in a neat and clean condition and to comply with all local landscape ordinances. (2). Upon arrival of each service day, the Contractor or Contractor’s designated employee shall notify the DMV Project Manager to address any problem areas. (3). All work dates and times must be approved by the DMV Project Manager before work is performed. (4). The Contractor shall discuss property boundaries with the DMV Project Manager at the start of the Agreement. (5). In the event, the Contractor is using a portable blower, debris shall not be blown into any parking compounds, landscaping, planters, or patios. (6). Noisy motors or equipment utilized by the Contractor shall be operated with minimum disturbance to the occupants of the building or adjacent buildings. One-Time Service (1). The Contractor shall provide a thorough and comprehensive, non-chemical, one-time cleanup of all landscape areas. a. Landscaping services shall be provided to bring the condition of the premises to an appropriate, visually appealing and maintenance level and shall include, but not be limited to: cutting back plants along walkways, pruning shrubs, removing leaves, weeds, pine needles, and other debris, sidewalks and paved areas shall be swept and cleared of all debris or soil as a result of the Contractor’s work. b. All clippings, trimmings, cuttings, trash, and debris resulting from work under this contract shall be promptly removed from the site within the same day of service. c. The DMV shall consider services complete when the landscape areas are neat, clean, and attractive. d. All work must meet the specifications as outlined in the Weekly Services section of this Scope of Work. Weekly Services (1). Ground Cover Areas a. Ground cover areas shall be maintained in a weed and grass free condition. All ground covers shall be maintained at no more than a one foot (1’) height and trimmed back to keep within planted areas. Ground covers shall not overhang on to or over curbs, sidewalks, streets, parking lots, or left to grow in or on bushes, trees, building or fences. (2). Shrubs and Trees a. Existing shrubs and trees shall be pruned and shaped to develop proper growth and promote their healthy condition. Shrubbery shall be maintained at a three foot (3’) maximum height, cutting back so that they do not overhang curbs, sidewalks, or parking places and prevent any safety or security hazards. b. In the event tree or plant or shrubbery supports are required at any time during this Agreement, they shall be eliminated as rapidly as plants can become self-supporting. Tree supports that must remain shall be kept in good repair. Supports or braces shall be repositioned as often as necessary to prevent damage to the tree or shrub. c. All new trees and shrubs shall be deep soaked at least monthly during the first two irrigation seasons, unless local soil and moisture condition dictate otherwise for good growth.
