Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor(s) shall provide qualified and professional sign language interpreters who are evaluated and certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). FTB prefers interpreters with a valid RID certificate; however, if one is not available, an interpreter with a valid National Association for the Deaf (NAD) certificate, level 4 or 5, may be acceptable. Valid RID and NAD certificates must be provided with bid submittal, and must be kept current and valid throughout the term of the Agreement. The contractor(s) shall provide qualified and professional realtime captioners who are evaluated and certified as necessary; If a certified sign language interpreter or a certified realtime captioner is not available, the Contractor(s) will provide qualified personnel who have been professionally trained and meet the standards of skills and ethics as set forth by the profession. In this situation, prior approval of the FTB Equal Employment Opportunity Office for each occurrence must be obtained.
