Specifications include, but are not limited to: The San Sevaine Basins are used for groundwater recharge (percolating water through the soil to the aquifer under-laying the basins. Over time, storm-water delivers enough silt, that a silt layer will build up on the floor of the basin. The silt layer will also build up on the side-slopes of the basin as well as on the sides and tops of internal berms. Proposals are being requested from contractors that have the equipment and personnel to efficiently remove the silt layer as specified in the attached RFP. The silt layer will be bladed into a windrow, and then loaded onto trucks for removal from the basins. Additionally, the side-slopes will be track-walked. The floors of the basins will be "ripped" to a depth of 48 inches (with rippers at 24-inch spacing). Finally, the floors of the basins (and the internal berms) will be finished and smoothed to ready the basins to receive more water.
