Farmington Community Library joins Oakland County on the MITN Purchasing Group

Farmington Community Library has officially joined the MITN Purchasing Group as one of nearly 200 local government agencies throughout Michigan using BidNet’s e-procurement solution. Farmington Community Library invites all potential vendors to register online with MITN Purchasing Group to access its upcoming solicitations by visiting https://www.bidnetdirect.com/mitn.

Farmington Community Library is located in Oakland County, Michigan. By joining the MITN Purchasing Group they join their county government in utilizing a streamlined platform and purchasing community to help increase transparency and help lower costs. Other municipalities in the area that participate in this regional community of purchasing professionals and local vendors include the City of Farmington Hills, Charter Township of Oakland, and the City of Novi. All participating agencies on the MITN Purchasing Group post their open bids to one central, online location.

Farmington Community Library Director Elyse Streit indicates, “The Library is excited to begin using the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade network and take a giant leap forward in the efficiency of our procurement processes.”

One of the main benefits Farmington Community Library hopes to achieve by joining this local purchasing community is to provide its vendors with more business opportunities with local governments. Registering on MITN Purchasing Group creates a quick and easy process for vendors to access a variety of quotes, RFPs, related documents, and addendum from local governments all across the region and state. Registered vendors also have the choice to upgrade their service to receive email notifications for opportunities matching their specific business, instant addendum alerts, advanced notice of term contract expiration and other features.

As a participating member agency on the MITN Purchasing Group, Farmington Community Library also benefits from the full e-Sourcing solution for bid and vendor management and tracking.
