Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 The City of Phoenix, Public Works Department, Fleet Services Division (FSD), is responsible for overseeing vehicle glass repairs or replacements for the City of Phoenix fleet of approximately 6,450 various makes, models and sizes. 1.2 Auto glass in all side and rear windows and windshields must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Standard 205 dated October 28, 2013 or most current standard. 1.3 The Contractor will provide all materials, equipment, supplies, travel and labor for automotive, truck and off road vehicle and equipment windshields, windows, and flat glass for city owned vehicles on an as needed/ if needed basis. 1.4 The Contractor will use the most current edition of the National Auto Glass Specification (NAGS) as a basis to figure the percent discount as listed on the invoice. 6.1. All windshields, windows, flat glass and installation materials must meet O.E.M. specifications. All glass must fit properly into the opening and be sealed completely to prevent any water, dust or contaminants from entering the vehicle area. All flat glass must be safety type laminated with clear plastic film between the glass layers, to minimize the risk of injuries to the occupants. Installed flat glass must not have any exposed sharp edges or corners. 6.2. The Contractor will use a fast curing polyurethane adhesive suitable to allow a guaranteed two (2) hour safe drive away time after application. Cost of adhesive must be included in the unit price. 6.3. Where applicable and consistent with vehicle safety guidelines, the Contractor will exercise reasonable cost savings efforts by salvaging and reusing existing molding rather than merely replacing.
