Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1.1.Contractor will provide glass beads for reflective pavement markings M 247-13 Type 1 per the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Pima Association of Government (PAG) Standard Specifications for Public Improvements Vol. 1, 2015 edition, Section 705-2.04and all other applicable Sections therein. 4.1.2.All glass beads must be coated with a moisture-proof and adhesion-enhancing coating. Moisture-proof coating shall prevent the beads from absorbing moisture and prevent the glass beads from being negatively affected (e.g., sticking together and clogging) by moisture that can build-up in shipping containers, bead storage tanks, and dispersion lines and tips. The adhesion enhancement coating shall enable the glass bead to develop a durable bond to the types of waterborne traffic paint and extruded alkyd thermoplastic. The alkyd thermoplastic coating must be a durable bead embedment ratio of 50 to 60% of the bead diameter.4.1.3.Glassbeads mustbecoated and flowfreeunder pressure or without, of a ready mixed gradation free of contaminates per Type 1 requirements. Glass beads must achieve an even adhesion with a single or double glass bead gun with an application speed of up to six (6)miles per hour.4.1.4.County will submit to Contractor a DO or DOM via email. Contractor will acknowledge the request within two (2) business days and ship orders within fifteen (15) business days from order acknowledgment. If the Contractor cannot meet the timeframe,Contractor will notify County by telephone or via email.
