Millions of adults lack the level of education and training needed to get jobs that pay well, provide benefits, and offer opportunities for advancement. Research shows that people with postsecondary education earn more over their lifetimes and have lower-than-average unemployment rates. To help alleviate this issue the Town of Gilbert wishes to solicit an agency (or agencies) to partner with Gilbert and deliver business technical assistance and/or job training services to low-moderate income persons located in the Town of Gilbert. A focus on providing business technical assistance to industries employing low-moderate income employees and/or job training in high demand and high wage professions including, but not limited to, healthcare, manufacturing, advanced business services, information technology, software and application design/programming, and skilled trades is preferred. The program should either aim to improve the education and earnings of low-skilled adults by providing well-articulated education and training tailored to the local job market and accompanied by guidance and other supports or provide technical assistance to business owners who employ low-skilled adults aimed at improving their business operations which will in turn help retain employees and increase employee wages.
