Specifications include, but are not limited to: Obtaining Support Services, coordinated system of services designed to help maintain the independence of persons who are Deaf-Blind or have Combined Vision and Hearing Loss, and are provided by Support Service Providers (SSPs). The ACDHH is seeking information regarding vendor capabilities for effective provision of support services and ensure that the specialized needs of persons who are Deaf-Blind or have Combined Vision and Hearing Loss are meet by providing SSPs who are: Are trained, sighted guides, and providers of visual and environmental information Familiar with a wide range of communication modes and techniques used by deafblind people, including American Sign Language. Provides mobility/travel/transportation to persons who areDeaf-Blind or have Combined Vision and Hearing Loss, communication in conducting errands, enables person to participate communicatively in community events and any other direct activities Provides text access/translation by reading client’s mail (correspondence and bills) and signs in the environment as well as assists clients with completing forms, to name a few.
