Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Solid Waste Services (SWS) is soliciting proposal for professional architectural and engineering services for the Anchorage Regional Landfill New Shop/Administration Building project. The selected firm will provide architectural and engineering design services, bid phase services during construction solicitation, construction administration, and project close-out services. The selected firm will also assist SWS in securing reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) by providing design, financial, or other documentation and information as may be required by FEMA. SWS will replace the existing 276’ x 80’, rectangular, single story building that was heavily damaged in the 2018 Point MacKenzie Earthquake. In order to be eligible for cost reimbursement from FEMA, the building must be designed and built so as to restore the “pre-disaster design” as defined by the FEMA Public Assistance and Policy Guide (PAPPG). The size, capacity, and function of the new building must be in conformance with the building’s attributes prior to sustaining earthquake damage.
