Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Review and stay abreast of changes to both Alaska K-12 state standard and national CCR standards for adult education and English language learners (ELL) for academic alignment; • Write Alaska specific College and Career Readiness (CCR) standards for adult education and English language learners (ELL) to improve curriculum and instruction in alignment with State-adopted challenging academic content standards, as adopted under section 1111(b)(1) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 6311(b)(1)); • Write Alaska specific adult education and ELL standards to ensure alignment with Alaska’s K-12 standards and prepare students for the rigor of college level classes, technical training programs, entry into employment and citizenship classes.
