Specifications include, but are not limited to: Trimming and Removal of All Debris - 40 Trees Removal of Trees and All Debris-55 Trees Grinding of all stumps and removal of shavings for trees listed above. Preparation and placement of zoysia sod on all disturbed areas related to the work listed above. 2.1 The work shall consist of tree removal, stump grinding, finish grading, permanent vegetation established, disposal of vegetation and erosion/sediment control on I-65 at the Ardmore Welcome Center at locations designated by the Engineer. Mobilization, disposal of vegetation, permanent vegetation establishment, temporary erosion control, stump grinding, finish grading and traffic control shall be subsidiary obligations of tree removal. 2.2 The requirements for the control of erosion and storm water runoff are given in article 107.21 and section 665.01 through 665.03 of the Standard Specification for Highway Construction, latest edition. These requirements shall be implemented prior to the initial operations and maintained throughout the work period. All work required under this section shall be a subsidiary obligation of tree removal. 2.3 The contractor shall comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and ordinances pertaining to disposal when material is being removed from right-of-way. Contractor shall attach to each invoice copies of disposal tickets from a certified landfill/disposal facility, or a copy of a letter of agreement for disposal on private property signed and notarized by the property owner. 2.4 The contractor shall not damage vegetation and terrain that the Engineer designates to remain undisturbed. Damage shall be repaired without additional compensation as directed by the Engineer. 2.5 Contractor shall begin work within fourteen (14) calendar days from the receipt of the notice to proceed. Upon mobilization and commencement of work, contractor will be expected to satisfy the requirements of this work scope in a continuous manner until the project is completed, inspected and accepted. Only those delays mandated by weather and temperature restrictions, holidays, or special events will be acceptable, when approved by the ALDOT Engineer. 2.6 At any point the contractor feels it is in the best interest of ALDOT to alter removal methods described at any location the concern should be brought to the Engineer’s attention for further review and approval. If approval is not granted by the local Engineer, or the Area Maintenance Engineer, the specifications and removal methods provided herein shall be met.
