Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Short Street Widening Project consists of the widening of the existing Short Street roadway section to a two-lane roadway from Martin Street to Shorter Street in downtown Madison. The project consists of the reconstruction of approximately 770 linear feet of pavement and the installation of a five (5) foot sidewalk along the west side of Short Street. The waterline (8” diameter) is also slated for replacement along the west side of roadway in this project. The Contractor must also install stormwater infrastructure, convert overhead electrical lines to underground electric, and install decorative street lights. The project includes all work items necessary to complete the project including clearing and grubbing, stripping topsoil, unclassified excavation, storm drainage, gravel bedding, a concrete sidewalk, and sodding. The sidewalk must conform to ADA requirements.
