Specifications include, but are not limited to: The ADMH/ADMHSAS, Office of Prevention is seeking proposals from ADMH certified prevention providers to implement prevention services aimed at preventing the onset and reducing the progression of substance use and reduction of substance use-related problems at the community level through utilization of the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Prevention’s (CSAP) strategies for prevention to impact large numbers of people, based on identified risk and protective factors. Proposals are sought for the state of Alabama to include all sixty-seven (67) counties within the state utilizing a catchment area distribution. See specific catchments in Appendix 1 Catchment Areas. Proposals will be written to address the twenty-two (22) catchment areas and the counties within based on the rank ordered need of each county. Up to $4,837,291 is made available to the state to fund the total proposal. A hybrid funding allocation model is utilized to disperse funding based on population as identified by the U.S. Census Bureau (2021) and highest need. Specific funding amounts are contained in Appendix 2 Funding Allocation Amounts by Catchment. Funding for this proposal is subject to availability of funds provided by the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Services Block Grant (SUPTRS), formerly Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant (SAPTBG) or referenced as SABG and administered by ADMH / ADMHSUS Office of Prevention.
