Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Assisting the Human Resource Department in administering all group insurance plans, responding to questions from and providing information to staff, and providing other consulting services during the course of the plan year. • Interface with insurance carriers as needed to assist the City in the resolution of problems associated with benefit programs. • Provide access to ERISA counsel and other legal resources providing timely information on the development, and/or business impact, of new legislation and regulations. Provide research on any new developments surrounding employee benefits law and available educational programs on an ongoing basis. • Review claims experience, claim service, and claim administration to ensure maximum benefit to City of Fairhope. • Determine and recommend the most economical funding methods for the benefit programs and strike a balance between cost and comprehensiveness of the programs.
