Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Harlandale Independent School District (“HISD” or “District”) seeks to provide nursing services to students with disabilities whom the ARDC deems appropriate. The District seeks 1 – 3 qualified and licensed nursing providers. These providers will implement students’ medical plans as recommended by a medical doctor or medical agency, attend meetings with the multidisciplinary teams and the ARDC to discuss such services, meet regularly with the campus nurse to discuss medical care given to the student, and provide daily logs and documentation of such services to the District. Nursing providers must follow District nursing standards for those students eligible for services. Completed documentation of services must be submitted prior to billing. In some cases, a student is already receiving services from an agency the parent feels comfortable with due to knowledge of providers, the recommendation of a medical doctor and/or past history with the agency. In these cases, the parent requests that the district continue to utilize the agency with whom the student is currently being served. To provide a seamless transition of medical services for the student, the District contracts with the agency of the parent’s choice.
