Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. A Drive Through Gate replacement is proposed along the east side of the aircraft ramp to enhance the physical security of the airport AOA. The gate will be constructed inside existing airport property and replace an existing drive through gate. The airport is currently protected by a 5’ + 1’ 3- strand barb wire chain link slide gate. This gate has clearances that allow enough space for a small person to breach. The drive through gate is the primary entrance and exit point for the majority of all the airport users and therefore it receives a tremendous amount of traffic. 1. The project consists of removing the existing slide gate and gate operator. The airport will maintain possession of the materials removed, unless directed otherwise by the Airport Director. Existing gate keypad and pedestal will remain in use. 2. Remove and replace traffic safety loops and free exit ground loop. 3. Install all code required safety components; i.e., reversing edges, signage, and photo safety eye. 4. Replace gate with 8’ + 1’ 3-strand barb wire aluminum hydraulic vertical pivot gate. Tilt – A – Way Model HYJG hydraulic Vertical Pivot Gate, 24’ x 8’ +1’ Aluminum Barrier. Replacement post and post footings should be included as needed. 5. The airport has completed the Environmental and Historical Preservation review for this project and the airspace review by the FAA. The contractor shall obtain permits from the Grand County Building Department and the Planning Zoning Department. 6. The bid should include any necessary hardware, accessory materials and design work necessary for the completion of this project that has not been included above.
