Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a fixed price contract to furnish (only) an estimated quantity of flowering annuals and perennials as outlined in Exhibit A to the City of Monticello for planting in the spring of 2024 and springtime each renewable year. PLANT SPECIFICATIONS - a. One (1) month before delivery, plant materials are to be inspected by the City Parks Superintendent for acceptance at the site where the plant material is being grown. b. Each flat must be labeled by type of plant and color. If the flats contain more than one type of plant, each plant must be labeled. c. Failure to properly identify flats or individual plants will result in rejection at time of delivery. d. All plants should have a well-established root system. e. Leggy plants and plants that are not self-supportive will not be accepted. f. Plants exhibiting disease or insect infestations will not be accepted. g. All plants shall conform to American Association of Nurserymen standards. h. Contractor shall supply a list of annuals each fall, during the term of the contract that describe the types and colors of annuals being grown for the upcoming spring. i. 4-inch to 4 ½ inch Annuals • Annuals are to be grown in pots a minimum of four (4) inches and shipped in flats of fifteen (15) or eighteen (18). • Standard varieties should be no less than five (5) inches tall. • Plants that branch should be pinched no less than once to develop more flower heads and each variety should be uniform in size and appearance. • All annuals should be delivered in flower. j. 6-inch Annuals • Annuals are to be grown in pots of a minimum of six (6) inches and shipped in flats of eight (8) each. • Canna and Musa shall have a minimum of two (2) mature leaves...
