Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Awarded Bidder shall collect Carts that are empty, as well as Carts that may have litter, trash, or debris in them that are, located on public property within Albuquerque City limits. B. For Carts that are on private property, the Awarded Bidder shall not pick up shopping carts on private property without consent (written or verbal are acceptable) from the property owner. C. Carts collected shall include those that are dirty, damaged, dented, in disrepair, and/or otherwise unusable. It may be necessary for the Awarded Bidder to pick up Carts in arroyos, ditches, or other public areas as requested by the City. D. The Awarded Bidder delivers empty carts on a weekly basis to a Solid Waste Management location, 6325 Hanover Rd.NW Albuquerque, NM 87121. The City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Management Department will notify the Awarded Bidder, in writing, of the location changes. D. The Awarded Bidder shall properly discard all refuse (discarded matter, trash, rubbish, debris) within and associated with the collection of the Carts. E. The Awarded Bidder shall provide a weekly report via email to the Solid Waste contact that shall include the dates and times of collection, the locations of pickup (including geolocation tracking information), the store or vendor identified on the Cart, if available, (e.g., Walmart, Target, or any other retailer), and a corresponding photo of the Cart at the pickup location. F. The Awarded Bider shall only collect those Carts for which it has no retailer contract in place. If the Awarded Bidder is providing Cart retrieval service directly to businesses, then the City will not be billed for retrieval of those Carts. The City may request the Awarded Bidder to provide the City with a list of stores that directly contract with the Awarded Bidder for Cart retrieval services in the City and verify if a store is not contracted for collection. G. Equipment Requirements: The Awarded Bidder will supply all equipment necessary for collecting the Carts. The Awarded Bidder shall maintain its vehicles and ensure that they are in good mechanical condition and maintain compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The Awarded Bidder shall bear all costs and expenses incidental to the operation of the equipment necessary to complete the services in this RFB, whether empty or loaded, including without limitation, all risks of depreciation, all maintenance (including gas, cleaning and washing vehicles), oil, tires, repairs, business taxes, consumption, personal taxes, transportation taxes, insurance coverage required herein, workers compensation premiums if required, payroll taxes, licenses, vehicle registration renewal fees, and base plates. H. Trespass: The Awarded Bidder shall be responsible for all damage or injury which may be caused on any property by the trespass of the Awarded Bidder’s employees in the course carrying out the services. I. Safety and Sanitation: The Awarded Bidder shall comply with applicable safety and sanitary requirements of the City and State Health Departments to the end that proper work shall be done, and the safety and health of the employees and of the community may be conserved and safeguarded.
