Specifications include, but are not limited to: Quarterly Inspection Service: 1. Check all fluids and fluid levels. 2. Inspect all belts, hoses cables, etc. 3. Load test engine start batteries. 4. Check battery acid level and gravity (if possible). 5. Check the battery A/C float charger. 6. Visually inspect the exhaust system. 7. Inspect the engine coolant heater and verify operation. 8. Start and run the engine to full operating temperature. 9. Inspect for any fluid leaks or mechanical defects. 10. Note the operation of all indicators on the control panel. 11. Note any problems or defects and report them to the NISD mechanic shop. 12. Return the unit to the automatic position. Annual Service (Include All of the Above, Plus): 1. Change engine oil. 2. Change engine oil filter(s). 3. Dispose of waste oil and filters at an Evironmental Protection Agency (EPA)-approved recycling facility. 4. Refill with new correct SAE grade and weight oil as needed. 5. Change the fuel filter (fuel/water separator if diesel). 6. Change or clean air filter(s). 7. All filters shall be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or equal quality. 8. Complete all items on quarterly inspection not already completed. 9. Inspect the engine ignition system. 10. Pressure test cooling system. 11. Test engine coolant for quality and freeze point. 12. Perform Load Bank Test as per specifications. Annual Load Bank Testing in Accordance with National Fire Protection Association Code 110 (Include in Annual Service): 1. Verify all transfer switches, controls, and voltage regulators for correct and rated voltage output and phase balance. 2. Exercise all control breakers. 3. Thermoscan all cabling, controls, and connections for excessive temperature rise. 4. Test and verify any and all alarm systems installed on the unit or any control. 5. Inspect all generator mounts, frames, and containment housing for condition. 6. Report any defects or problems to the District mechanic shop. 7. Leave the containment area clean and uncluttered. 8. Return the unit to the automatic position.
