Specifications include, but are not limited to: TDEM is seeking to enter into a professional services contract with a state-registered and licensed architect to provide third party peer review services for design/plans for a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) funded Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) P-361 Hurricane Safe Room. This RFQ is seeking a registered professional peer review of the plans, occupancy, structural design (including missile impact resistance, means of egress, access, and accessibility, fire safety, and essential features such as ventilation, sanitation, and back power, to demonstrate compliance with ICC 500 chapters 3,4,5,6, &7 and FEMA P361. Deliverables are to include detailed assessment of the accuracy and eligibility of the hurricane safe room design/plans under FEMA P-361 specifications and corresponding uniform/international building codes as applicable. The peer review will verify compliance with sections; 106, 107, 110, & 111.will be performed in accordance with the specifications detailed in Section C of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Include costs for up to two (2) in-person design review meetings with the Architects and Engineers either in Houston, College Station or Austin, TX.
