Specifications include, but are not limited to: Program goals and objectives include: • Providing intervention supports to schools and districts to improve students’ reading performance by: o Meeting with educators in their school settings to provide professional development to the meet the purpose of supporting students’ reading progress; o Working with school staff to identify effective and efficient methods for collecting appropriate documentation for student’s Individual Reading Plans and Good-Cause Exemptions. o Assisting with developing school-based systems of early identification of students needing support, development of support plans, and systems to adequately monitor student progress; o Implementing targeted coaching cycles to schools based on requests from schools and/or districts or on referrals from the Office of Student Assessment in collaboration with the Office of Intervention Services resulting from documented deficiencies in current systems. • Supporting the Division of Literacy and the Office of Student Assessment in timely monitoring of school-level implementation of MS Code 37-177-1 and 37-177-11 of the Literacy-Based Promotion Act
