The County of Morris provides medical, psychiatric, obstetrical, and dental services to approximately 300 inmates housed in the Morris County Correctional Facility, located in Morris Township, New Jersey. The inmate population includes both males and females and health care is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week by physicians, psychiatrists, dentists, and nursing staff. Health care problems range from those of an acute nature to those of a chronic nature. The County of Morris wishes to contract for institutional pharmaceutical and consulting services for the inmates of the Morris County Correctional Facility. Vendor shall fill all prescription items daily, Monday through Saturday; Sunday prescriptions will be filled through an emergency service. Historically there have been about 650 prescriptions filled per month. An approximate pharmaceutical breakdown is 80% generic and 20% name brand. All prescriptions shall be filled and delivered to the Correctional Facility within twenty four (24) hours, unless otherwise notified. Emergency prescription services shall be provided on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis; prescriptions shall be delivered within four (4) hours. Deliveries shall be made by 9 p.m. on the same day that the new orders are received if placed prior to 3 p.m. or noted as stat. Vendors shall have the ability for health care practitioners to enter prescriptions at the point of care using an Electronic Prescribing System.
