Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor will repair ice rink refrigerant piping where apparent blockage is impacting the temperature of the floor. This includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to remove the concrete floor at the header, flushing the refrigerant piping to clear an apparent blockage, repairing refrigerant piping, and restoring the floor. The base bid also includes removal, storage, and reinstallation of glycol and pressure testing. 5.2.1 Drain system prior to demolition, store for re-use. 5.2.2 Score concrete for clean edges of removal area. 5.2.3 Remove and dispose of rink slab concrete to expose both ends of obstructed rink circuit, using extreme caution not to damage header or circuit piping. The 1” poly rink circuit piping is approximately 4” on-center. 5.2.4 Repair any damage to the perimeter concrete caused by demolition. 5.2.5 Cautiously remove concrete to the top of insulation or replace damaged insulation layer beneath concrete floor. Existing 2” insulation to remain. 5.2.6 Seal any locations damaged during demolition. Existing Vapor Barrier to Remain. 5.2.7 Clean all floor surfaces after demolition. 5.2.8 Dispose of all removed materials off-site in a proper manner. 5.2.9 Chip around rebar and leave exposed portion of rink tubing. Install #4 rebar dowels, inserted and into adjacent concrete surfaces with approved epoxy material per manufacturers recommendations, to replace damaged rebar located 16” OC. Existing #4 at sixteen inch on-center Rebar to remain when possible. 5.2.10 Install new WWF (welded wire fabric) across entire repair area and lap with existing. Existing WWF 6x6 W1.4xW1.4 to remain to the greatest extent possible. 5.2.11 Flush tubing to remove blockage. 5.2.12 Perform supply and return testing to verify blockage is addressed. 5.2.13 Repair the 1” poly rink refrigerant pipe circuit where it was removed for this process. 5.2.14 Prior to replacing glycol, Pressure Test the system. 5.2.15 Replace glycol and add new to accommodate for any that was lost during this process...
