Requirement for bid security: Bid security shall be required for all competitive sealed bidding for contracts for supplies and services when the price is estimated by the purchasing agent to exceed one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00). Bid security shall be a bond provided by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Georgia, or the equivalent in cash, cashier's check or certified check. Nothing herein prevents the requirement of such bonds on contracts for supplies and services under one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) when it is determined by the City that the circumstances warrant such requirement.
