Description

The Town is pursuing the purchase of a portion of an impacted property and anticipates a legal or
court settlement for the purchase. Legal services are required to provide guidance under within the
Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970 (Uniform Act)
since the project is a federally assisted FEMA funded project. The Town of Lyons is seeking an
attorney to assist with eminent domain and be the representative of the Town in the instance of a
litigated eminent domain proceeding. The firm should understand the condemnation laws and
procedures. The firm should understand the complexities and intricacies of eminent domain law. The
selected attorney will assist the Town to navigate the process and guide the Town toward the best
outcome.
