Specifications include, but are not limited to: Colorado Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) was selected by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as the sole entity certified to participate in the National Deaf Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP). This program provides deaf-blind individuals with modern telecommunication tools, granting two-way communication between deaf-blind and the community at large. Upon application approval, the deaf-blind consumer is assessed, the assessor, based on the assessment, selects telecommunication equipment, and a trainer then trains the deaf-blind consumer on the equipment as needed. The assessor or trainer will be reimbursed for travel expenses (cab, mileage at 49 cents/mile, travel time based on program Guidelines, hotel, airfare, meals when applicable based on program Guidelines) and limited training courses when approved by program in advance.
