3005-20 - Aurora Central High School - Development and Implementation of Interventions

The following needs have been identified at Aurora Central HS through multiple external and internal reviews, including Billig Consulting, Mass Insight Education, Office of Autonomous School staff, and Colorado Department of Education School Review Panel:
 

• Build capacity of instructional leadership and strengthen collaborative structures around Instructional Leadership team.
• Support teachers, particularly with teaching to grade-level standards and rigor and development of common formative assessments, especially given that 60% of teachers have less than 5 years of experience. 
• Implement Professional Learning and PLC structures with opportunity to strengthen alignment and effectiveness. 
• Development of intentional recruitment and retention strategy. 
• Further align International Leadership Focus with curriculum. 
• Development and implementation of MTSS system that addresses tiered academic needs, in addition to behavioral needs. 
• Strengthen support for English Language Learners. 
• Enhance approach to Pathways and post- secondary readiness. 
• Continue to monitor on-track and college and career-readiness indicators.
