Separate sealed bids for US 85 CPW Access Road, Parking Lot and City Ditch Relocation Project, Douglas County Project Number CI 2021-037, will be received by the Owner, Douglas County Government, Department of Public Works Engineering, Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104, until Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. This project consists of the following: (1) the relocation of City Ditch (City of Englewood’s water supply line) and (2) improve access to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and construct CPW a new parking / storage area. Bid items include reinforced concrete pipe elliptical (CIP), plastic pipe, manhole box base (10 foot), 217 tons of hot mix asphalt, patching, aggregate base course, clearing and grubbing, shoring, fence and gate installation, traffic control, survey and erosion control. A major portion of the Project requires significant shoring associated with installing the relocated water line under the Eastbound C-470 off-ramp to US Hwy. 85. With utilizing approved detours, the contractor selected will be allowed to close the C-470 off-ramp for a long weekend, beginning on Thursday night and continuing through Monday morning.
The Contract Documents will be available after 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, through Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System Website (www.rockymountainbidsystem.com) or they may be obtained at the above address. Electronic versions of the Plans obtained by any other means than as described above may not be complete or accurate, and it is the Bidder’s responsibility to obtain a complete set of the Project Plans and Specifications. Douglas County will not be held responsible for misinformation received from private plan rooms.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Department of Public Works Engineering, Philip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104, or you can participate in the Pre-id Conference virtually via Microsoft Teams (link provided in the contract bid documents). The Bid Opening will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the same address.
The Project includes the following major items and approximate quantities:
- 456 linear feet of 60x38 Inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe Elliptical (CIP)
- 240 linear feet of 48-inch plastic pipe
- 5 each manhole box base (10 foot)
- 217 tons of HMA (Grading S) (75) (64-22)
- 146 tons of HMA patching
- 3,667 tons of aggregate base course
Prior to submitting a Bid Proposal, Bidders shall have received prequalification status (active status) with the Colorado Department of Transportation to bid on individual projects of the size and kind of work as set forth herein.
