Description

Repair or replace the deteriorating emergency egress stairway attached to the east side of the library. This stairway is not a regularly used path into the building but is an emergency egress path. The stairway holds water during rain and snow in the pan which holds the concrete step, which is contributing to the deterioration of the stairway rusting through at the pans,. Our preference is to replace the stairway and/or pans with an all-metal stairway with expansion metal treads. For bidding purposes, we require a very basic shop drawing, to then be developed into a more robust shop drawing for the city planning and permitting department once the project is awarded.

BID PACKET REQUIREMENTS
Service Provider shall deliver the following within the bid packet.
A. Written work plan, including a publishable Gantt chart showing milestones, their estimated start time, and workdays to complete, and showing total job completion days:
a. Each work activity proposed in a timeline.
b. Proposed equipment usage and setup locations around the workspace with the intended path of travel to and from those setup locations, to include how you will protect people and property (i.e. ladders, lifts, etc. that may be disruptive or impede pedestrian flow), any area closures you will require and for how long. Length of shut down for domestic water services).
B. Provide a very basic concept shop drawing which will need to be developed into a permit drawing for the city permitting process.
C. RFQ Lump Sum pricing sheet must include the pricing of the following line item breakdown, Labor and Materials.
a. The City of Lafayette is Tax Exempt.
