Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project is for construction of woodrat habitat den sites (2 condos) and enhancement/modification to existing rock habitats (7 locations) within a ¼ mile span utilizing wall rock and R6-R8 stone materials currently staged at the east end of the project area along the Well Road on State Game Lands #084. Construction will require strategic placement of rock material in precise fashion as directed on site by PGC staff using a large excavator equipped with thumb capable of maneuvering/placing the size of the rock specified above. A 40 ton articulated rock truck and bucket loader/skid steer or comparable equipment suitable for efficient transportation of rock construction materials on site to the various construction locations throughout the project area are required for efficient completion of this project. Contractor will be responsible to place ~200 tons of existing staged wall rock into each of 2 “den/condo” stone structures (A/B on map) and ~100 tons of wall rock into each of 7 “enhancement” structure locations (1-7) as identified in the included map. Placed upside-down at the core of each den or enhancement will be varying numbers of 2x2 distribution boxes or box culvert (as provided and specified by PGC) Wall rock at each structure must be arranged precisely such that stones are approximately 3-6 inches apart from one another on as many sides as possible to permit ingress and egress by woodrats, but to prevent ingress by animals as large and larger than foxes, raccoons, fishers, bobcats, etc. All structures, both “den and enhancement” will then be capped with approximately 100 tons rip-rap of size R6-R8, starting with R8 and finishing with R6 or utilizing other existing natural rock on site and within reasonable reach of the structure location. All site locations do contain varying quantities of on site comparable size natural rock within easy reach of equipment work space that can be incorporated and utilized along the way. The site location is shown on the attached maps in East Cameron Township, Northumberland County (40.732651, -76.588615).
