Sandblasting of Equipment Contractor shall sandblast all exterior surfaces of all equipment to be painted unless otherwise notified by the designated TFD representative. This shall include all stick on decals and tape on the equipment. Bus Shelters: Contractor shall clean blast all external steel frame members. Other Equipment: Sandblasting requirements will be provided at time of order placement. Sandblasting of all equipment shall be done following the Commercial SSPC-SP6" (Steel Structures Painting Council) method Contractor shall sandblast off all stick on decals and tape on equipment. Painting Services Primer – Bus Shelters Contractor shall prepare all surfaces of the bus shelter frames for primer coating, reseal all unwelded tubing joints w/30 year paintable urethane caulk. Contractor shall prime all bus shelter frame surfaces with an epoxy primer 6 mill thick that will work with Metro’s final color finish. Materials Coating materials shall not be used until the Project Representative has inspected the materials to be used. Prime coat shall be the alkyd primer specified. Preserva Prime (28 81) as manufactured by Preservative Paint Company, a rust inhibitive weld-able primer for ferrous metal surfaces. Color: Red Oxide. Bus Shelters Contractor shall be able to paint at least one to two bus shelter frames per week. Paint exterior surfaces of the bus shelter. King County will provide all paint. Paint shall be applied using the cross-spray method Other Equipment Exterior surfaces of Other County Equipment shall be painted as specified at time of order. King County will provide all paint.
