The San Miguel County Parks & Open Space department is requesting, from experienced structural manufacturers, estimates of cost to construct and install steel stairs, railings and observation deck from engineered drawings. The location is at the base of Bridal Veil Falls at the east end of Telluride, Colorado. This section of trail across the rock is steep, without footholds or handholds, and is slippery when wet. To improve and enhance public safety, the County’s Parks & Open Space department would like to install steel stairs to cross the boulder. It is also important for the stairs and viewing platform to be styled with influences from our mining history and with as little intrusion into the natural surroundings as possible. The installation must be completed by Oct. 31st, 2024.
