Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project area consists of one central staging/fueling area (See attached maps). Elevation of the staging area is 8,500 feet and the three drop sites range from 7,200 to 6,700 feet elevation with a flight distance ranging from 1.0 to 3.3 miles to each drop site. Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 is the work day for this contract and all work must be completed during this day. Vicinity maps showing the project sites are attached. Utah Division of Wildlife (UDWR) staff will have a pre-work conference with contractor to review and agree on a workday plan that maximizes use of helicopter and UDWR personnel time. Work shall be performed in an organized systematic manner as determined in the pre-work conference. UDWR will provide experienced ground crews at all staging areas and drop zones. UDWR staff have been involved in multiple projects similar to this one and will help the contractor streamline work in any way that helps maximize safety while minimizing loss of time. Helicopter must be capable of lifting personnel, fencing materials, and supplies (800-1,000 pounds min-max) in a timely manner to remote work sites. Hughes 500 helicopter is not sufficient and will not be acceptable. Larger ships, such as the Bell Ranger have proven very effective and fast for these projects. Must be carded for external loads / long line. Must have a fuel truck available at staging area at all times. Job must be completed in one day during a contiguous four-hour span of daylight. Project date may be rescheduled due to poor weather conditions, breakdowns, etc. Helicopter must be able to sling loads that are a minimum of 800 pounds, not to exceed 1,000 pounds. Materials to be transported include UDWR personnel, fencing materials, and assorted supplies. All loads will be bundled and secured by UDWR personnel in a way that is acceptable to the contractor. Weight of loads will not exceed 1,000 pounds. A fuel truck and all long lines, netting, and other equipment for sling loads must be provided by the helicopter company. A project staging area that is clear, flat, and away from obstructions has been selected to minimize distance flown while hauling materials. Records and Notification: The Contractor shall maintain adequate records to allow the UDWR to monitor contract progress and for the Contractor to be accountable for work quality.
